Let me begin with this is not my recipe. I wanted to know if it was as good as it sounded. Indeed, it is! With the exception of using an almond soy milk wash on the pastry, I didn't change one thing. Below, I share the ingredients and a link to the original recipe.

The Recipe
Frangipane ingredients:
1/2 cup of whole almonds
1/3 cup of sugar
butter
1 large egg
1/2 vanilla bean*
The frangipane (an almond filling) is superb, easy and quick to make using a food processor.

*Note
Vanilla beans are expensive but well worth the cost. You can also purchase vanilla paste.
Ready now to try this fig frangipane? I found the complete recipe on Purple Foodie by SHAHEEN PEERBHAI, a chief based in London, England.
For the pastry dough, I used a super recipe by Chez Pim's "One Pie Dough To Rule Them All." As for me, no more store bought pie dough! I have found my pie-dough love!
Yes, I'm guilty, I treated myself to a piece before sharing with anyone else! Try it with a dollop of whip cream and a hot cup of coffee.
